Kangchenjunga
Guardian of the Eastern Himalaya

Photography by Tim Hauf; Text by Conger Beasley Jr.

Photographer Hauf and writer Beasley blend their superb talents to capture the legendary mountain and the remote terrain of the eastern Himalaya. Hauf presents his astounding photos of the face and texture of the mountain, while Beasley provides insightful text showcasing the people, history, flora and fauna of this spectacular region.

While Hauf has traveled to many corners of the world, the Himalaya have a special appeal to him, having returned three times since his initial visit and trek to Everest Base Camp in 1999, detailed in his book, Solu-Khumbu: The Trek to Everest.

Award-winning author Conger Beasley Jr. has written about many remote corners of the world, most recently in Hauf’s book Patagonia: Wild Land at the End of the Earth.
